The opening ceremony of the 2025 Maritime Silk Road International Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off on Dec 11 in Quanzhou, Fujian province.

At the ceremony, the Fujian Inbound Tourism Policy, Silk Road and Minnan Cultural Inbound Tourism Selected Route, and Inbound Tourism Guide were officially launched.

The Sailing Initiative for International Travel Agencies from 100 Silk Road Cities was also launched.

Additionally, agreements for a series of culture and tourism projects were signed and a batch of cultural tourism promoters for Quanzhou were appointed at the ceremony.

Furthermore, a dazzling fashion show themed "World Heritage, Shared World" was held. Focusing on maritime intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and Minnan culture such as Nanyin music, Liyuan Opera, and customs of Hui'an women, the show integrated traditional performing arts and expressions from countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road. It presented a cultural feast that transcended time, connected China with the world, and celebrated the beauty of diversity.

The international cultural tourism feast hosts three major sections with 10 events in Quanzhou. attracting 35 performance teams, and ICH performance teams, as well as nearly 2,000 domestic and international guests and friends from 48 countries and regions.
