China textile technology achievements summit held in Quanzhou

The 2020 China Textile Technology Achievements Matchmaking Summit was held on Oct 27 in Jinjiang, a county-level city in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the summit adopted a combined online and offline model, bringing together more top textile producers. The number of online viewers for the event exceeded 150,000.

At the summit, experts from the China National Textile and Apparel Council provided a briefing on the development trends in the textile industry and company executives shared their latest information on cutting-edge technology.

The top 10 textile technologies in China were identified at the summit, as well as the conferring of industry promotion awards, new technology awards and technical contribution awards for fighting the novel coronavirus epidemic.

In addition, a forum on new medical materials was held. Experts in the field and representatives from leading enterprises that have performed outstandingly in the anti-epidemic process discussed the application and development of new medical materials.

Moreover, a number of industrial projects reached agreements at the summit to settle in Quanzhou. They include a woven fabric technology R&D innovation base and a knitted fabric dyeing and finishing technology R&D innovation base.

Since the reform and opening-up, Jinjiang has vigorously developed its private economy, brand economy and real economy. The textile, footwear and clothing industries are the pillar industries in Jinjiang, with obvious brand and market advantages.

The city has received awards for its regional industrial brands, being recognized as a China Textiles Industry Base, the China Shoes Capital and as the World Jacket Capital.
