In addition to a long and beautiful coastline, Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, also boasts picturesque mountain scenery. Locals and tourists looking for a cool summer escape would be wise to visit the region's mountains, where they can view stunning cloud formations, starry nights and spectacular sunrises.

Qingyuan Mountain

Qingyuan Mountain is a rare, large-scale natural oxygen bar located in Quanzhou's urban area. The peak is well-known for its cultural and religious sites, such as the famed Laojun Rock Sculptures.

At the end of the day, when darkness falls upon the landscape, the temperature at Qingyuan Mountain drops. Sitting on Nantai Rock, overlooking the beautiful ancient city, the cool evening breeze will make you forget the scorching daytime heat.

Zimao Mountain

Located at the junction of downtown Quanzhou and the county-level cities of Jinjiang and Nan'an, Zimao Mountain is the highest mountain in Jinjiang and an excellent place to escape the summer heat.

At the top of Zimao Mountain, you'll find the storied Lingxiao Pagoda soaring towards the sky. From the viewing platform in front of the pagoda, you can enjoy the striking scenery of Jinjiang's downtown streets and countryside.
