In the first five months of this year, Quanzhou's online retail sales amounted to 85.83 billion yuan, ranking it first in the province, with a year-on-year increase of 24.6 percent.

During the period, rural online retail sales in Quanzhou hit 63.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent and the city's online retail sales of agricultural products totaled 3.78 billion yuan, up 40.4 percent on the previous year.

In addition, after the epidemic outbreak, the city moved to capitalize on the advantages of its manufacturing industry. It quickly integrated upstream and downstream enterprises in the  production and supply chain of protective materials to produce masks, protective clothing and other anti-epidemic materials.

Since the epidemic outbreak, 355 operating businesses in Quanzhou have declared 2.24 billion yuan worth of export epidemic prevention materials to customs channels across the country.

These have included 1.96 billion yuan worth of masks, 230 million yuan in protective clothing and 50 million yuan in other epidemic prevention materials.

Their export destinations covered 93 countries and regions in the world, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Iran.
