A container loaded with 27.5 metric tons of imported frozen bone-in beef ribs was transferred from Xiamen Dongdu Port to the imported meat designation inspection site at Fujian Mintai Agricultural Products Market in Nan'an, a county-level city in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, on May 13.

The inspection was carried out by Quanzhou customs. This marked the first time that Quanzhou port has imported beef products.

The container had departed from Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, and entered China at Xiamen Dongdu Port. It arrived at the imported meat designation inspection site for Fujian Mintai Agricultural Products Market via land transportation.

This process not only helped the Fujian Mintai Agricultural Products Market to broaden its supply channels and support the development of its businesses, but also effectively eased the pressure at the terminals of Xiamen port, preventing a pile up of the imported products.

Quanzhou customs will further streamline the monitoring process for the transfer of meat products in order to create an efficient customs clearance process for enterprises.

It will also strengthen inspections and quarantine sampling to ensure the health and safety of meat products.
