Quanzhou sees increasing exports in first four months

From January to April, Shishi market procurement trade pilot zone in Quanzhou, a city in East China’s Fujian province, generated exports valued at 4.91 billion yuan ($691.82 million), according to Quanzhou customs. This constitutes a year-on-year increase of 123.8 percent, with goods exported to 142 countries and regions around the world.

In terms of export goods, granite stone and its products were valued at 1.18 billion yuan, 39.75 times more than last year, and exports of mechanical and electrical products amounted to 816 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 186.8 percent.

Meanwhile, exports of textiles and clothing generated 538 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41.7 percent. In April, exports of epidemic prevention materials such as masks and protective clothing totaled 130 million yuan.

During the period, the zone’s exports to South Korea reached 811 million yuan, 20 times more than the previous year, while the value of exports to the Philippines was 1.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 98 percent.
