The Gymnasiade, an international sport event for teens organized by the International School Sport Federation, is held every two years.

Located in Xinshi village, Jinjing town, Jinjiang, a county-level city in Quanzhou, a city in East China’s Fujian province, the gymnasium covers a total construction area of 9,329 square meters, and was built with a total investment of 46 million yuan ($6.5 million).

The gymnasium is equipped with a main indoor stadium and a warm-up hall with about 1,310 seats. It will play host to the fencing competition of the 2020 Gymnasiade, and can also meet the future needs of school physical education.

With stone and red brick as its main colors, the gymnasium not only matches the look of the original building, but also highlights the traditional style of southern Fujian.
