Quanzhou launches online industry live broadcast festival

The Quanzhou Online Industry Live Broadcast Festival was launched in Nan’an, a county-level city of Quanzhou, a city in East China’s Fujian province, on April 23 and will last until the end of June this year.

In order to help Quanzhou brand enterprises with their online marketing, Quanzhou held a live broadcast festival jointly with Chinese online group discounter Pinduoduo.

Organizers said the event covered major categories of clothing, tea, food, ceramics, as well as baby and maternity products.

At the launch ceremony, the Quanzhou municipal government and Pinduoduo signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.

Pinduoduo also plans to set up industry live broadcast bases in Shishi, Dehua and Jinjiang, to promote training and development of talent in e-commerce and live broadcasts.

The Quanzhou municipal bureau of commerce also issued a new policy to support the city's e-commerce sector, with grants up to 1 million yuan ($141,300).

The policy will focus on supporting the development of e-commerce businesses, cross-border e-commerce, e-commerce entrepreneurship and innovation and the development of e-commerce services systems.

Quanzhou is not only a major consumer goods manufacturing market, but also a national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone.

It is one of the country's online business hubs and Fujian's largest online retail hub and online goods supply area.
