The Shishi supply and demand fair on export of epidemic prevention materials was held at Shishi International Trade Service Center in Shishi, a county-level city in Quanzhou, East China’s Fujian province on April 7.

The event attracted 20 local anti-epidemic materials manufacturers, more than 200 foreign trading firms with a demand for products, as well as foreign businessmen.

Since the coronavirus outbreak, many businesses in Shishi have actively responded to the call and turned to production of epidemic prevention materials, such as face masks and protective clothing.

As the epidemic situation becomes increasingly severe in the world, there is an urgent need to export anti-coronavirus materials.

Officials said that about 110 million yuan ($15.62 million) worth of goods were sold on the day, including orders for 44 million disposable face masks, 8 million heavy duty KN95 surgical masks and 20,000 sets of protective clothing.

“The quality of the products is very good and the relevant qualifications and procedures are relatively complete,” said a buyer from Egypt.

“I plan to purchase 5 million masks and sell them to Europe and the Middle East.”

The Shishi bureau of commerce, Shishi market supervision bureau and the Quanzhou customs office in Shishi also provided guidance for participating companies on market procurement and trade policies, epidemic prevention product operation licensing, quality certification and epidemic prevention customs clearance.
