Live: Hotel collapse under investigation

The Xinjia Hotel collapsed at around 7: 15 pm on March 7 in the Licheng district of the city of Quanzhou, in East China's Fujian province, trapping 71 people. Currently, all the 71 people had been recovered from the debris. 

March 13

- Preliminary investigation into the hotel collapse unveiled, indicating illegal building construction and transformation.

March 12

- State Council has set up a special team to look into the hotel collapse. 

- By 11:15 am, all the trapped 71 people had been recovered from the debris, 29 of whom had died. The rescuers are stilling cleaning up the accident scene. 

- At 11:04 am, the last trapped person had been found and confirmed dead. 

March 11

- Quanzhou held a press conference on resuce progress about the hotel collapse accident at 5:50 pm. 

- As of 12:45 pm, 70 people had been pulled out of the debris, among them 28 people were confirmed dead. Rescue workers are still searching for the one person who remains missing.

- By around 6:30 am, 68 people had been recovered from the debris of Xinjia Hotel, 26 of whom had died. Three people are being searched.

March 10

- As of 4:40 pm, 62 people had been pulled out of the debris of the Xinjia Hotel, and among them 20 had died.

- A man was rescued in the afternnoon after 69 hours buried under the debris of the collapsed hotel in Quanzhou. Read more

- Ten injured people had been discharged from a local hospital.

As of 12 pm, 61 people had been pulled out of the debris, among them 20 people were confirmed dead (18 victims showed no sign of life at the time of rescue; 2 died in hospital). Ten people are being searched.

- As of 6:50 am, 59 people had been pulled out of the debris of the hotel, among them, 20 had died. Rescue workers are searching for another 12 people who remain missing.

March 9

- A mother and son were rescued at about 11 pm after 52 hours of being buried under rubble from the collapse of the hotel. They were immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment.

- Quanzhou held a press conference on resuce progress about the hotel collapse accident at 9:30 pm. Read more

- As of 2 pm, 50 people had been found from the ruins, including eleven people were confirmed dead. Twenty-one people are being searched.

- At 10:17 am, all rescuers at the scene temporarily withdrew from the rescue scene and a rescue dog was sent in.

- As of 8 am, 49 people had been rescued, including eight with no vital signs. One person was in good health and 40 were sent for medical treatment, of which two were confirmed dead. The search is continuing for 22 missing people.

March 8

- As of 5:26 pm, Quanzhou First Hospital had admitted a total of 15 patients injured at the accident. During the treatment process, the hospital had performed nucleic acid testing for 13 quarantined injured people during the observation period of centralized medical observation. The test results were all negative.

- Ten people were confirmed dead as of 4 pm.

- As of 3 pm, 48 people were rescued and 23 had been still searched.

- Quanzhou held a press conference on the hotel collapse accident at 1 pm.

March 7

- As of 11:16 pm, 38 people had been rescued and escaped from the hotel collapse accident in Quanzhou.

- Due to the rescue operations, temporary traffic control measures were being taken at the Quanzhou West Toll Station.

- At 7:17 pm, the Quanzhou fire rescue detachment command center received an alarm saying that a hotel in Licheng district had collapsed. The detachment dispatched 67 fire engines and 361 commanders to the scene.

- At about 7:30 pm, the Xinjia Hotel in Quanzhou's Licheng district suddenly collapsed within a few seconds, trapping about 70 people.
