Huian county, situated in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, is famous for its stone carving, which dates back 1,600 years. Huian's stone carving was listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2005.

Its technological process mainly includes kneading, hollowing, picking and carving.

With a large number of Huian people living abroad in modern times, Huian stone carving is becoming known in Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

The stone carving industry in Huian has been undergoing industrial development and cultural innovation in recent years. The output value exceeded 16 billion yuan ($2.3 billion) in the first half of 2018, with products selling to more than 100 countries and regions.
