Located in the east of the central city of Quanzhou, across the sea from Taiwan, Quanzhou Taiwan Investment Zone covers 218 square kilometers and has a permanent population of about 256,000.

In 2019, the region's GDP reached 33.03 billion yuan ($4.16 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.6 percent.

The investment zone focuses on five major distinctive industries: new materials, green intelligent transport, health and medicine, cultural tourism services and high-end equipment manufacturing.

The zone takes the initiative in integrating into the overall development of the central city, and aims to create Quanzhou's "back garden" guided by the concept of urban model construction.

In addition, the zone attaches great importance to the construction of a life circle for Taiwan businessmen and compatriots. It has introduced 10 Taiwan-funded enterprises, including Wagor Education, and built an exchange and cooperation demonstration zone for Taiwan talents.

Also, the zone is working on a Taiwan cultural and creative street, which will support Taiwan businessmen or associations to attract investment independently.
