The added value of the tertiary industry in 2019 was 387.29 billion yuan ($54.74 billion). Focused on fostering new forms of business that specialize in providing services, Quanzhou is promoting the development of tourism, modern logistics, innovative finance, health and elderly care, sports services, and intermediary services. Quanzhou also strives to accelerate the construction of a national e-commerce demonstration city and China express delivery demonstration city, and has launched several new e-commerce platforms. There are more than 40,000 enterprises settled in the online business virtual industrial park, and the total amount of e-commerce transactions reached 509.4 billion yuan. The tourism industry received 78.01 million tourists and earned 131.27 billion yuan in total revenue in 2019, up 20.8 percent and 20.5 percent year on year.
