Minnan Science and Technology University is located at the start of the ancient Maritime Silk Road – the famous hometown of overseas Chinese in Nan'an county, Quanzhou, Fujian province. In 2001, it was jointly founded by Fujian Normal University, a century-old provincial institution of higher learning, and patriotic overseas Chinese in the Philippines.

The university's three campuses cover more than 446,666 square meters. It offers 31 undergraduate majors including science, engineering, liberal arts, management, economics and art, and has nearly 8,000 students and more than 400 faculty members.

Over 18 years, the university has developed advanced management methods and excellent conditions for students.
