Quanzhou Normal University
Quanzhou Normal University was formed by the merging of four schools, including Nan'an normal school. The university was shortlisted in the first batch of pilot units for cultivating master's degree graduates in China, was one of the "double first-class" universities in Fujian province, and a demonstrative application-oriented university in the province.
The university has three campuses, covering 1.21 million square meters. It has 58 full-time undergraduate majors with about 18,000 full-time undergraduate and graduate students. It has more than 1,400 faculty members, including more than 1,100 full-time teachers, more than 100 professors and more than 300 associate professors.
Echoing to the Belt and Road Initiative, Quanzhou Normal University has been focusing on deepening intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation, establishing sister-school relations with more than 60 foreign universities, and cooperating with well-known universities to train application-oriented talents.
In 2005, it was one of the first two universities in Fujian to send Chinese volunteers as international Chinese language teachers to the Philippines. It has joined a project launched by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council to send more than 400 Chinese teachers to the Philippines, the United States and Brazil.
