Urasoe, Japan
Date of establishment of sister-city relation with Quanzhou: September 1988
Introduction:
Urasoe is located in the south of Okinawa, Japan, covering 19.09 square kilometers with a population of about 114,000 (data from 2012). It was the first city to establish sister-city relations with Quanzhou. Urasoe has a developed economy, ranking second only to Naha, the capital of Okinawa. The tertiary sector dominates, with hardware manufacturers and food-processing plants accounting for half of the city's industrial output. Its agriculture includes aquaculture, and cultivation of vegetables, flowers and sugar cane.
Monterey Park, the United States

Introduction:
Monterey Park is located at the eastern part of the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, California. Covering 7.7 square miles, it has a population of more than 60,000, the majority of whom are Asian, and the Chinese population accounting for 47.7 percent. It was the first city in the United States where the proportion of Asian exceeded half the population. Monterey Park enjoys the reputation of being a small international financial and business center and one of the centers of the retail and catering industries in the US. There are three modern enterprise centers in the city with many world-renowned companies.

Introduction:
Neustadt is located in southwest Germany, with an area of 117.1 square kilometers and a population of about 53,000. It boasts developed industries in tourism, grape cultivation and wine production, and trade.

Introduction:
Mersin is in the south of Turkey, along the Mediterranean coast, with an area of 1,772 square kilometers and a population of 204,000. It is Turkey's most important petrochemical industry base and one of its most important trade and export commodities distribution centers, its most important port city and railway transport hub on the Mediterranean coast. The city's main industrial products include petrochemicals, glass, cement, chromium, soda ash, cotton and wool textiles, fertilizer and marble. The main agricultural products include oranges, lemons, vegetables and seafood.
San Diego, the United States

Introduction:
San Diego is in southern California, with an area of 10,878 square kilometers. It is the second largest county in California, with a population of 2.8 million. San Diego is divided into five boroughs with 18 municipalities. It is the largest military port and naval base in the western part of the US. Its economic strength is similar to that of Israel or Indonesia. It boasts developed technology and education, especially the biotechnology and wireless communications industries which both rank first in the US. Its industry is mainly high-tech, such as biopharmaceuticals, communication, electronics, computer software and precision instrument manufacturing. Agricultural products mainly include fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, seedlings and flowers.
